Contribute Your Lab to Emriver/SERC!

Emriver is happy to introduce a new online venue for river and coastal labs. We’ve partnered with SERC (the Science Education Resource Center at Carleton College) to create a platform where educators can share ideas, pro tips, and content lessons across the globe. There are about 900 Emriver stream tables and flumes globally, and SERC has more than 5 million visitors to its site each year. By tapping into the expertise and creativity of teachers and researchers like you, we can help improve education about rivers and coasts around the world.

We hope you will join the effort by contributing a lesson to the site. In addition to the joy of sharing your pedagogical acumen and learning from others, you’ll also have a chance to win a K500 Flow Controller to add to your river model! On December 1, 2026 we will put the names of all the authors who have uploaded complete lessons to the site into a fishing hat and select one winner to receive this upgrade.

To learn more about contributing teaching activities, go to the Emriver/SERC site. On the site you can also register for a free virtual workshop in October, hosted by SERC and Emriver, and featuring Professor Lisa Ely from Central Washington University. We hope to see you there!
